Weekend sale to benefit Audio-Reader Network

The Kansas Audio-Reader Network will have a sale, “For Your Ears Only,” this weekend at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds to raise money to convert its satellite system. The conversion cost is an estimated $40,000.

Audio-Reader is a service for people who are blind, visually-impaired and have print-disabilities. It is a radio reading service that broadcasts 24 hours daily. Volunteers read materials over a closed-circuit radio broadcast.

“For Your Ears Only” will feature used audio equipment and audio-related materials for sale.

The sale will kick off at 7 p.m. Friday with a sneak preview; admission is $5. The sale will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The sale will be at Building 2 at 2120 Harper St.
