A semi-tractor trailer that overturned and injured the driver late Monday night on U.S. Highway 24 near Williamstown was removed from the scene Tuesday afternoon.

The driver of the rig, Stanley E. Franckowiak, Hartselle, Ala., was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. He was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The accident occurred about 11:30 p.m. when the westbound tractor trailer failed to make a curve, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.
