The family of Charles and Magdalena Schwarz will have its 48th annual reunion from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in Building 21 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Attendees are asked to bring a basket dinner and their own table service. The dinner will begin at 1 p.m.

• Laura Cooper, a Free State High School student, has been selected for membership in the National Society of High School Scholars. The society invites only students who have superior academic achievement and are among the top scholars in the nation.
