Wildcats sweep Jayhawks volleyball
Manhattan ? No. 10 Kansas State proved its might Wednesday, beating the Kansas University volleyball team 3-0 (30-20, 30-24, 30-22) at Ahearn Fieldhouse in the Big 12 Conference opener for both teams.
Kansas State (11-2, 1-0 Big 12) standout Lauren Goehring had 13 kills and five digs with a .524 hitting percentage, and she was helped by Valeria Hejjas’ 16 kills and Laura Downey-Wallace’s 11 digs.
Junior Ashley Michaels and sophomore Josi Lima led the Jayhawks with nine kills each, and junior libero Jill Dorsey added 11 digs.
Kansas (7-4, 0-1 Big 12) plays host to Colorado at 1 p.m. Saturday.
