Yogathon to raise money for classes at county jail
The Yoga Center of Lawrence, 920 Mass., Suite 4, is conducting its third annual Yogathon at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Proceeds from this year’s Yogathon will go to help the yoga program at the Douglas County Jail purchase instructional yoga books, blankets and foam blocks to be used during class sessions. In past years contributions have helped people with chemotherapy expenses and the Community Drop-in Center of Lawrence.
Yoga students receive donation pledges for their participation. Participants may perform certain poses for certain lengths of time, work with a partner or accept challenges from audience members.
