Cooler, wet weather, expected Thursday

There’s a slight chance of rain overnight, and a better chance for wet weather on Thursday. But dry conditions are expected for the rest of the week, says a local forecaster.

By Tuesday afternoon, clouds will have thinned out and the temperature should warm up to a high of 83, said Matt Sayers, 6News meteorologist.

Winds will be out of the south, 10-25 mph.

“Tonight, southerly winds are drawing up moisture. And with a little upper-level disturbance, we have a slight chance for an isolated storm,” Sayers said. However, most areas will remain dry.

The temperature overnight will drop to 64.

On Wednesday, it will be windy and warmer, with a high of 89 and partly cloudy skies, he said.

Wednesday night will bring increasing clouds ahead of a cold front, which will drop the temperature to 64.

“The front is heading in on Thursday morning, which gives us a 40 percent chance of rain, scattered throughout the day. By the evening, it should be out of the area,” Sayers said.

Thursday’s high will reach 70, with the overnight low dropping to 47.

“On Friday, we’ll have a beautiful afternoon — mostly sunny skies with the high 73,” he said.

Friday night’s low will drop to 48. Saturday’s high will hit 78, with skies turning partly cloudy. Saturday night’s temperature will drop to a low of 50, under partly cloudy skies.
