Boeing takes action in Lockheed case
Chicago ? Boeing Co. said Friday it had taken unspecified personnel actions after conducting its own investigation into the case in which employees were alleged to have plotted to gain trade secrets from rival Lockheed Martin Co.
Spokesman Walt Rice declined to elaborate on the measures by Boeing, which already has been punished by the Air Force for using Lockheed records to help win rocket contracts. The company was indefinitely banned in July from bidding on satellite launching contracts and had seven satellite launches taken away.
The Wall Street Journal, citing unidentified sources, reported Friday that six current employees were disciplined, including the head of the Delta IV military rocket program, who was demoted.
Rice said he could not confirm or deny the report. He said only that as a result of an investigation “Boeing has taken certain internal administrative personnel actions.”
