Jim and Mary McLeod, Perry, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception at 8 p.m. Friday at Mulligan’s Restaurant at Lake Perry Country Club.

The couple were married on Sept. 18, 1943, in Tacoma, Wash.

Mary is a Liberty Memorial High School graduate. Jim attended Henry Ford Trade School in Dearborn, Mich. He served in the Navy during World War II and later graduated from Kansas University’s school of engineering.

Gloss

Bob and Doris Gloss, Overbrook, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Overbrook Christian Church.

Bob Gloss and Doris Lyon were married Sept. 29, 1963, at the Worden United Methodist Church. Bob served four years in the U.S. Air Force and retired from DuPont in 1985 after 28 years. Doris retired in 1996 after 31 years of teaching. She spent the past 25 years as a reading specialist at the Overbrook Grade School.

The couple’s children are Rob and Debbie Gloss, and Kevin and Sheri Gloss, all of Overbrook. They have five grandchildren.
