Fishburn

Angie and Alvin Fishburn

Alvin and Angie Fishburn, rural Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 6 with a family dinner given by their children.

Alvin Fishburn and Angie Flora were married Sept. 6, 1953, in Quinter.

Alvin is a Liberty Memorial High School graduate. He attended McPherson College. Angie graduated from Quinter High School and McPherson College. They were in the dairy and farming business at Lone Star for 43 years, retiring in 1998.

The couple’s children are Allen and SanDe Fishburn, Lawrence; Adrian and Debbie Fishburn, Lawrence; Arlon and Barb Fishburn, Hesston; Anne and Roy Dare, Weslaco, Texas; and Amy Fishburn, Fort Collins, Colo. They have 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Walden

Barbara and Bob Walden

Bob and Barbara Walden, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 13 at Free Methodist Church in Lawrence.

The couple were married Sept. 19, 1953, in Richland. Barbara was a bookkeeper for Briman’s Jewelers for 22 years. Bob was a parts department manager at Martin Tractor Co. for 30 years. He also worked 10 years for First National Bank in Lawrence.

The couple’s children are Cindy Wampler, Overland Park, and Wayne Walden, Durham, N.C. They have two grandchildren.
