Lyle Lawson

? Services for Lyle Lawson, 76, De Soto, will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel in De Soto. Cremation will follow.

Mr. Lawson died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, in De Soto.

He was born March 23, 1927, in Bennett Springs, Mo., the son of Perry and Retha Lawson.

Mr. Lawson and his wife, Janie, owned the Dew Drop Inn in De Soto. He was a retired pipefitter in local 533. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Eagles Lodge and AMVETS.

Mr. Lawson’s first wife, Sally Price Olsen, and a daughter, Robin Leighton, died earlier.

Survivors include his wife, Janie (Rogers) Lawson, of the home; a son, Dennis, Las Vegas; a daughter, Debbie Shogren, Bonner Springs; two sisters, Betty Taft, Oceanside, Calif., and LaVerne Herrera, Kansas City, Kan.; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the memorial chapel.
