Swim Winners: Chloe Portela and Cameron Case of the Lawrence Aquahawks earned nine and eight gold medals at last weekend’s Olathe Spooktacular meet. Molly Albrecht and Nathaniel Rommel picked up five golds apiece, while Zach Anderegg and Katie Sloan were four-event winners. Three-time winners were Heather Clark and Ben Sloan. Two golds went to Morgan Flannigan, Julian McCafferty, Emma Reaney and Marcy Vickers. Single-event winners were Erin Eifler, Mariah Finley, Reese Grabill, Amber Hicks, Alyssa Rudman and Johanna Seifert.

  • Free State Parents: Parents of FSHS students who plan to participate in winter sports are encouraged to attend an orientation meeting at 5 p.m. Nov. 13 in the FSHS gym. Call Steve Grant at 832-6050.

  • Lawrence High Baseball: An informational meeting for freshman boys who are eligible to play baseball for LHS next spring and their parents will be at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 9 in the LHS cafeteria. If unable to attend, call David Petry at 841-1388.
  • Baseball Lessons: Kansas University’s baseball staff will be offering semi-private lessons Sunday evenings through March. Cost of four sessions is $150. All ages are welcome. Call 864-7135.
  • Raiders Deadline: Application deadline is Monday for the head-coaching position of the Lawrence Raiders, an under-18 baseball team under the auspices of the Lawrence Amateur Baseball Assn. Call Ron Goodwin at 843-4662.

  • Hartman Ace: Jerry Hartman of Overland Park used an 8-iron to ace the 134-yard No. 3 hole at Eagle Bend. Witnesses were Tim Gunya, Steve Gunya and John McCarthy.

  • Schierling Ace: Brian Schierling of Overland Park used a 5-iron for a hole-in-one Tuesday at the 167-yard No. 11 hole at Alvamar CC. Witnesses were Dick Barton, Larry Brock, Wayne Postoak and Ken Creasey.
  • Gentry Hole-in-One: Jan Gentry used a 7-iron to record an ace on the 110-yard No. 8 hole Wednesday at Alvamar CC. Witnesses were Elaine Brady, Julie Spain and Darlene Allen.
