Sauer reaffirms outlook

Manufacturing equipment maker Sauer-Danfoss Inc. on Wednesday posted a wider quarterly loss largely due to restructuring costs, but reiterated its full-year outlook due to optimism about the overall economy and its markets.

The company reported a third-quarter net loss of $2.2 million, or 5 cents a share, compared with a loss of $500,000, or 1 cent a share, in the year-ago quarter.

Sales in the quarter rose to $255.4 million from $223.9 million last year. Sauer-Danfoss repeated its full-year outlook, saying it expects to earn 40 to 50 cents a share, excluding restructuring costs. It provided that outlook at the beginning of the year.

The company operates a plant in the East Hills Business Park in Lawrence.
