Cutting through the graveyard on the way home after a school dance in Nashville, Tenn., it was after 10 p.m., and Jake Peeler, a high school student, was heading home after a dance. Jake just moved here a couple of months ago, so he had never been in this graveyard before; also, he has a family of five, a mother, a father and a brother and sister.

Jake then thought about what the kids in Jake’s school said about this graveyard. They said it was haunted because there have been reports of shadowy figures roaming around the last few weeks. But Jake did not believe them. As Jake remembered this, he thought he heard sounds behind him and turned.

There was no one there.

Jake walked faster now, and then he heard it again this time; it was closer. He looked up, and then he saw it.

It was standing on top of a shed about 5 feet away. Jake saw that it was about 7 to 8 feet tall, definitely not human because its head was huge and then the creature stepped into the moonlight.

Jake screamed, “Help! Help!”

Then he saw five more creatures closing in around him. Jake tried to run, but his feet wouldn’t budge.

His heart was pumping so fast he thought it was going to burst out of his chest. One of them reached out to grab him, and Jake fainted.

“What happened?” asked Jake. He was in his house. His mother came up to him and said, “That is what I would like to know.”

Jake wondered what those creatures were and was glad he would never have to see them again … hopefully.
