Halloween expected to be cloudy, but dry
So far, the weather forecast doesn’t look too scary for trick or treaters headed out Friday night for Halloween, says a local forecaster.
“Friday night, it will be dry,” said Matt Sayers, 6News meteorologist.
A storm front that’s now in the Gulf of Alaska is expected to move this way by the weekend.
“It’s definitely going to give us cloud cover for Friday,” he said. But Sayers predicts Lawrence won’t get any rain until midday Saturday.
Tuesday’s forecast calls for sunny skies and the temperature to reach a high of 64. But strong northwesterly winds, 15-20 mph, gusting up to 30 mph, will make it seem a little cooler, he said.
Some clouds will move in during the evening. The overnight low will drop to 40.
“Wednesday will be another breezy day, but the winds will be out of the south,” Sayers said. Temperatures will be 77 for the high, under partly cloudy skies.
On Wednesday night, the winds will back off a little bit and the temperature will drop down to 53 by Thursday morning.
The temperatures will warm up to 71 on Thursday, with clouds moving in later in the day.
Friday’s morning low will be 50. Temperatures will warm up to a high of 64 under cloudy skies.
Sayers is predicting the front will bring a few scattered showers starting in the early afternoon Saturday. The rain will increase through Sunday, he said.
