Royals raise ticket prices

It'll cost more to see K.C. team in '04

? It will cost between $2 and $4 more next year for tickets to see the Kansas City Royals, who just completed their first winning season since 1994.

Individual game purchases for 2004 top out at $25 for club box and dugout box seats, up $3 for the club boxes and $4 for the dugout boxes. Field box and dugout plaza seats rise $4 to $22, and seats in the outfield areas go up $2 to $12.

The cheapest seats, in the upper deck beyond the infield area, will increase by $2 to $7. The parking fee also goes up by $2, to $8.

Prices are discounted for those buying season tickets or the 21-game or 41-game plans. The dugout plaza seats, between the dugouts at the rear on the first level, are $18 apiece for season-ticket buyers and $19 in the package plans.

Season ticket buyers will pay $6 per game for parking, with package plan participants paying a dollar more. The average price for tickets increases to $13.42, from $12.13.

According to Team Marketing Report Inc., the average price for major-league tickets last year was $18.81, ranging from $42.34 for the Red Sox to $9 for the Expos.
