Britney’s stalker strikes back

Los Angeles — The Japanese businessman who has been ordered by a judge to stay 300 yards away from Britney Spears for three years is suing the pop princess in Los Angeles federal court.

Masahiko Shizawa alleges that Spears’ bodyguards brandished a gun at him on a public street, and claims that the 21-year-old singer has caused him “extreme emotional distress.”

The judge in the case ruled that Shizawa is “abnormally obsessed” with Spears, which makes us ask: Is there such thing as a normal obsession?

Kidman is Chanel’s newest face

New York — One fashion icon is partnering with another: Nicole Kidman is the new face of Chanel.

The French luxury house announced Friday that Kidman would be the new celebrity spokeswoman for Chanel No. 5, the top-selling fragrance in the world. The iconic perfume was introduced in 1921.

Baz Luhrmann, who directed the 36-year-old actress in the musical “Moulin Rouge,” is creating, directing and producing the ad campaign, which will be ready in fall 2004.

Kutcher enjoys parental role

New York — When Ashton Kutcher started dating Demi Moore seven months ago, he didn’t just get a new girlfriend — he also inherited her three young daughters.

Kutcher has become a sort of surrogate father to Moore’s children with Bruce Willis: Rumer, 15; Scout, 12; and Tallulah Belle, 9. He drives them to school and soccer practice and has even attended parent-teacher conferences at their schools.

The co-star of the Fox sitcom “That ’70s Show” says he wouldn’t have it any other way.

“Being a part of molding anyone’s life is an incredible thing. It’s an unbelievable addition to my life,” Kutcher tells TV Guide for its Nov. 1 issue. “I feel like they’ve been shafted in the deal. I get four of them (including Moore), and all they get is me. They got the short end of the stick.”

Kutcher, 25, and Moore, 40, have been gossip-column fodder because of the difference in their ages, but he’s unabashedly romantic about the “G.I. Jane” star.

“She’s everything to me,” Kutcher says. “Funny, sweet, she’s anything she wants to be.”

Jolie honored for refugee work

United Nations — Near tears, with her voice cracking, Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie accepted the U.N. Correspondents Assn.’s first Citizen of the World Award for her work with refugees.

Jolie, a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. refugee agency since 2001, said at the awards dinner Wednesday night she was “inspired and humbled” to work with refugees.

Ruud Lubbers, the U.N. high commissioner for refugees, said the actress had extended her work with the refugee agency for another two years.
