6News video: Art a la Carte

The Lawrence Arts Center’s Seem-To-Be Players and City Youth Theatre will warm audiences up for Halloween when they present a trio of haunting plays this weekend. On the bill are “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” “Dolph Heyliger” and “Cats and Bats IV: Lucy Gets Lost.”

In the arts center gallery, two juried art exhibitions open tonight in conjunction with the Kansas Artist Craftsmen Association’s annual conference. One show features the work of Kansas students, the other, pieces by professional artists. The reception starts at 5:30.

And finally, nearly 100 Lawrence artists are putting the finishing touches on their studios today in preparation for the ninth annual Lawrence ArtWalk. The self-guided tour invites the public into artists’ creative spaces tomorrow and Sunday to see where they work and allow them to buy original artwork straight from the source.
