Hancock services

? Graveside services for Purdy Lind Hancock, 87, Berryton, Kan., will be in Milo. Cremation is planned.

Mr. Hancock died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, at the Arbors at Brandon Woods Retirement Community, Lawrence, Kan.

He was born Feb. 29, 1916, in Belknap, the son of Gilbert S. and Minnie (Dunlevy) Hancock.

Mr. Hancock was a mechanic, carpenter and cowboy.

He married Lillie A. Jarvis in 1938 in Kirksville, Mo. She died July 4, 1990.

Survivors include three sons, Deverre P., Berryton, William S., Las Vegas, and Russell D., Phoenix; a daughter, Linda F. LaRue, Ottumwa; a brother, Arthur Ray, Bloomfield; a sister, Esther May, Bloomfield; 38 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Brandon Woods Alzheimer’s Unit, sent in care of Lawrence Funeral Chapel.
