The Kanwaka 4-H Club met Oct. 7 at the Kanwaka Hall. Jim Dray and Mike Bronoski led the flag salute. It was parents’ night, and parents of last year’s officers conducted the meeting.

Bart Solbach and Greg Gantz gave a presentation on their trip to Washington, D.C. Carol Simpson and Gary Price led the club in singing “Down by the Banks of the Hankie Pankie.” Members answered roll call by telling what their Halloween costume would be. There were 12 visitors present. Debra McCandless read the minutes, which were approved as read. Miriah Dixon sent a thank-you note to club members who walked with her to raise money for diabetes. She raised more than $70,000. Mike Bronoski gave a speech about Morse code and how it is used.

The following events were announced: leadership training , Oct. 11-12; ice skating, Oct 25; volunteer to serve at Farm Bureau dinner, Oct 13.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 4.
