Glenn Eugene Neis

? Services for Glenn Eugene Neis, 71, Wellsville, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville. Burial will be in Wellsville Cemetery.

Mr. Neis died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

He was born April 4, 1932, in rural Wellsville, the son of John F. and Mildred (Batdorf) Neis. He grew up in Wellsville and graduated from Wellsville High School in 1950. He earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science from Kansas State University in 1955. While in college, he participated in the ROTC program and was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity.

Mr. Neis served in the U.S. Air Force until he was honorably discharged in 1957. He owned and operated a dairy farm in rural Wellsville for most of his life. He was a Golden Harvest Seed dealer for more than 30 years. He was a member of Wellsville Masonic Lodge, Douglas County Farm Service Assn., Wellsville United Methodist Church and Gardner Eastern Star. He was a past board director of the Douglas County Farm Bureau, Wellsville school board, All-Star Dairy board and board of directors of Farmers Co-op.

He married Delores Ellen Skilling on Feb. 15, 1959, in Wellsville. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Brian, Brent and Doug, all of Wellsville; a sister, Louise Wray, Ottawa; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
