KU names new research official
Kansas University officials on Wednesday named George A. Wilson interim associate vice provost for research.
Wilson’s duties will include watching over KU’s Lawrence campus research centers and institutes, research space and investments in research.
“George is dedicated to continuing the upward progress in research made in recent years by KU’s extraordinary faculty, and he brings many new ideas for promoting research success,” said James A. Roberts, interim vice provost for research, in making the announcement.
Wilson joined KU’s chemistry faculty in 1987.
He is the Higuchi distinguished professor of chemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry.
His research in analytical and pharmaceutical chemistry led to the development of an implantable sensor for glucose used for continuous hypoglycemia risk management in diabetic patients.
