Harry L. Hart Jr.

Services for Harry L. Hart Jr., 82, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Lawrence Free Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Hart died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.

He was born June 26, 1921, in Westmoreland, the son of Harry L. Hart Sr. and Bernice Heath Hart.

Mr. Hart served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an aviation radioman 2nd class. He was a retired switchman for Southwestern Bell, where he worked for 30 years. He was an active member of Lawrence Free Methodist Church, where he had been a choir member since 1951. He also was a member of Westmoreland American Legion No. 186 and had been a volunteer at Babcock Place.

He married Anabel Keeler on Oct. 4, 1959, in Lawrence. She died Jan. 26, 1982.

Survivors include a daughter, Katie B. Hart, Lawrence; a brother, Thomas E., Westmoreland; and a sister, Mary M. Broadfoot, Holton.

A son, Allen Keeler Hart, died in 1986.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the church, Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary.
