Warren R. Jones

? Services for Warren R. Jones, 84, Santa Fe, N.M., will be Nov. 8 at First Presbyterian Church in Osage City.

Mr. Jones died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, in St. Paul, Minn., after a long illness.

He was born July 3, 1919, in Osage City, the son of Lloyd and Annabelle (Martin) Jones. He graduated from Osage City High School and earned a degree in architecture in 1947 from Kansas University.

Mr. Jones served in the U.S. Army field artillery in Europe during World War II. He achieved the rank of captain and received two bronze stars.

He worked at Santa Fe Railroad and Williamson-Loesack and Associates Architects in Topeka. He retired as a partner from Van Doren, Hazard and Stallings Engineers and Architects in Topeka in 1983, when he and his wife moved to Santa Fe. He did volunteer work with several organizations and for Sen. Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico.

He married Margaret G. Raikes on Feb. 20, 1943, in Carmel, Calif. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Bruce A., Lincoln, Neb., and Mark W., Cedar, Minn.; two brothers, Harold D. and L. Martin, both of Lawrence; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
