Center on disability wins $750,000 grant

Kansas University’s Beach Center on Disability Research has received a five-year, $750,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s National Institute of Disability and Rehabilitation Research.

The funds will be used for further research on improving the lives of children with disabilities and their families. The research will also focus on family policy, self-determination, school-community partnerships, law and public policy.

The Beach Center is the only U.S. center that has an interdisciplinary, multimethod approach to family concerns.
