Eula Aleen Beckwith

Graveside services for Eula Aleen Beckwith, 83, Richmond, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Garnett Cemetery.

Mrs. Beckwith died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Richmond Care Center.

She was born June 25, 1920, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., the daughter of Fred and Mabel (McCay) Dale. She graduated from Garnett High School in 1938. She lived in Lawrence from 1984 to 1996 and lived the rest of her life in the Garnett area.

Mrs. Beckwith worked for the Warner Sewing Factory in Garnett for many years. She was a former member of the Garnett Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Garnett United Methodist Church.

She married Charles S. Beckwith on Aug. 10, 1940, in Olathe. He died earlier. Two sons, D. Stephen Beckwith and Fred Beckwith, and a granddaughter also died earlier.

Survivors include a son, Roger Beckwith, Lawrence; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday and before the service Monday at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapels Inc. in Garnett.

The family suggests memorials to the Eula Beckwith memorial fund, the beneficiary of which will be determined later, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 408, Garnett 66032.
