School board to discuss Weseman in special closed-door meeting

The Lawrence school board will meet in a specially called executive session Thursday night to discuss an e-mail sent to board members from Supt. Randy Weseman.

The e-mail, which talked about Weseman’s commitment to the Lawrence school district, explained that if there would be a need for any more administrative cuts, the cuts should start with his job — the superintendent.

At tonight’s closed-door meeting, the board will re-evaluate their expectations of the superintendent and his expectations of the board. Weseman was evaluated by the board just last month and came away with high reviews.

Two board members, Cindy Yulich and Sue Morgan, held a short press conference earlier today and both said they support Weseman and would not want him to go.

The closed-door meeting is set to begin at 6 p. m. at the school district’s administrative center, 110 McDonald Dr. Weseman will not be present at tonight’s meeting.
