KU women fall to Ducks

? Kansas University’s women’s basketball team rallied from an 11-point deficit and led late, but 24th-ranked Oregon escaped with a 54-51 victory over the Jayhawks Friday night in the Oregon Classic.

KU (0-2) rallied from a double-digit first-half deficit to tie it at 37. The Jayhawks led as late as 47-46, but the Ducks pulled away.

Crystal Kemp led KU with 11 points.

“I thought we played very well, actually,” said KU coach Marian Washington, who now has coached 900 college games.

The Jayhawks will face Sacramento State at 8 tonight in the Classic.
