Kansas soccer team earns academic prize

Kansas University’s soccer team has earned the Team Academic Award by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

A total of 336 soccer programs (71 men, 265 women) posted a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher to qualify for the award.

KU finished with a school-best 18-6-1 record.

Baker women thump Tabor

Baldwin — Courtney Hodges and Ashley Ohlman each scored 10 points, leading Baker University to a 76-49 win Tuesday over Tabor at Collins Center.

Gretchen Patty led the Wildcats (3-4) with seven rebounds, and Erin Robinson added five assists.

Baker travels to Topeka for a 3 p.m. match Saturday against Washburn.
