Here’s an entry from one of our readers:

Motionless
The early-morning sun
Beats brightly
Against my naked face
As I lie supine
In this exposed field.
The wildflowers
Neighboring me
Turn their
Rainbow faces upward
To see what I see.
I can hear
The ghostly giggles
Of the children
Who used to dwell
In this now-forlorn field.
My watch
Ticks away time
I know I don’t have to waste
On this forenoon,
But I remain motionless
On nature’s floor.
I will linger
Until the sun expires,
Like the children
Who used
To frolic here.
