Francis Van Etten

? Services for Francis Van Etten, Garnett, were Saturday at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel in Garnett. Burial was in Richmond Cemetery.

Mrs. Van Etten died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, in Olathe.

She was born in Lyman County, S.D., the daughter of James and Julia (Stone) Greenwood. She moved to Garnett in 1970.

Mrs. Van Etten was a homemaker. She and her husband did missionary work on reservations in South Dakota. They also ministered and taught Christian education classes at the Spanish Assembly of God in Rawlins, Wyo., for four years and at Full Gospel Assembly of God in Garnett for 17 years. She was a member of Living Water Fellowship.

She married Lester A. Van Etten on Dec. 26, 1950, in Pierre, S.D. He died earlier.

Three sons, Lester Van Etten Jr., Clifton Van Etten and Rick Van Etten, and a daughter, Sheryl Keva Van Etten, also died earlier.

Survivors include five sons, Larry Van Etten, Alturas, Calif., Richard Van Etten, Sacramento, Calif., James Van Etten, LeRoy, Kip Van Etten, Iola, and Jody Van Etten, Vancouver, Wash.; six daughters, Linda Maley, Lyla Freidline, both of Garnett, Julie Crowell, Edgerton, Wanda Trout, Chanute, Leslie A. Van Etten, Washington, and Wendy Williams, Platte City, Mo.; two sisters, Cecelia Hill, Welda, and Phoebe Mott, Colony; 24 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
