Rob Kampman had 12 points and eight rebounds, helping Wichita State hold off La Salle, 74-71, Friday night at the Paradise Jam.

Fridge Holman added 12 points, Aaron Hogg had 11 and Jamar Howard 10 for the Shockers (1-0).

Gary Neal led La Salle (0-1) with 22 points. Mike Cleaves had 15 points and Steven Smith had 13 points and eight rebounds.
