Lawrence’s Glass wins in Las Vegas

Lawrence’s Bob Glass has repeated as champion of the Brunswick Senior World Open bowling tournament.

In the championship match Thursday night at the Orleans Bowling Center in Las Vegas, Glass defeated reigning PBA Senior Bowler of the Year Mark Roth, 224-189.

Glass pocketed $20,000 in first-place money.

During the 11-stop PBA Senior Tour that ended in late August, Glass didn’t win a single event.

The Brunswick Senior World Open is not affiliated with the PBA Senior Tour.

Seabury honors athletes from fall

Thursday’s Athletic Award night at Seabury Academy saw several athletes honored.

For volleyball, Elise Stella was named team MVP, sophomore Lindsey Ahlen was named most improved player, and Laura Frizell won the coaches award.

Gary Gardner was named MVP for Seabury’s boys soccer team this year, with Min Kyu Lee honored as most-improved player and Steven King winning the coaches award.

Adam Davis and Katie Pottorff were named MVPs of their respective cross country teams. Matt Parker and Amanda Look were named most improved runners, and Davis and Wyn Cromwell took home the coaches award.
