Vigola services
Graveside services for Glenda C. Hill Vigola, 85, Lawrence, will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Vigola died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 1, 1918, in Linwood, the daughter of Charles Elias and Minnie Kay (Reetz) Hill. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1935.
Mrs. Vigola was a manager at Bellas Hess Women’s Clothing and was later a sales clerk at Ed Marlings, both in Lawrence. She retired in August 1967.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and former member of Santa Fe Retired Employees Assn., Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and American Business Women Assn.
She married Melvin C. “Pidge” Vigola on Nov. 17, 1967, in Gainesville, Texas. He died March 14, 1988. A son, John Charles Hunzicker, also died earlier.
Survivors include a son, Robert Carl Hunzicker, Lenexa; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to American Legion baseball program, sent in care of the mortuary.
