Cub Scout Pack 3370, chartered to the Deerfield School PTA, met Nov. 3 at Deerfield School. Scouts finished decorating a Christmas tree that will be donated to the Festival of Trees auction in December.
The dens also participated in a “cake bake” competition in which scouts baked a cake at home and decorated it with a Cub Scout theme. Lisa Werner was organizer of the event. The top finishers in the Wolf den were Logan Cherland, Hunter Dedloff and Alex Houston. The top finishers in the Bear den were Nathan Lassley, Jamie Braden and Josh Hess. The top finishers in the Webelos den were Mitchell McCune, Jeremy Woodhead and Blake Hocking. Tiger Scouts competed with cupcakes, and the top finishers were David Neff, Brandon Wilson and Nic Hocking. The overall winners were Nathan Lassley, first; Mitchell McCune, second; and Logan Cherland, third.
Cubmaster Rick Werner then presented the Spirit Stick to the Wolf Den in recognition of its attendance, adherence to uniform and decorum during the meeting.

Cub Scouts of Den 4, Pack 3051, chartered to Pinckney School, have been working on their Wolf rank and Arrow points. The Scouts have been building bird houses, making concrete and tile stepping stones, learning to sew, making a flag, studying cooking etiquette, and learning about safety and manners. The Scouts are Cameron Reusch, Graham Hoskins, Jordan Root, Austin Garner, Dakota Zinn, Cory Church, Diamond Brockway and Isaac King. Den leaders are Rod Zinn and Margaret Cameron.

Randy Beeves is stepping down after eight years of service as Scoutmaster to Troop 62, chartered to the Linwood Lions Club. During his tenure, eight boys obtained their Eagle rank. His successor is Mike Kissinger, an Eagle Scout and Brotherhood Member of Order of the Arrow. He has been active in Scouting for many years.
