Baker men routed by Midland Lutheran

Blair, Neb. — Matt Turner scored 25 points, Jacob Lentfer added 18 and Adam Lamprecht had 17 points as Midland Lutheran College hammered Baker, 99-67, in college men’s basketball Friday.

Darin Redeker and Ross Thompson each scored 16 points off the bench to lead Baker (2-1).

The Wildcats hit just 32 percent (8 of 25) of their first-half field goals and just 23.5 percent (4 of 17) of their three-point goals for the game

BU will face Dana tonight in the second game of the Nebraska/Kansas Classic.

Park U. women slip past Baker

Ottawa — Randi Johnson and Randi Meissner each scored 22 points to lead Park University to a 79-75 college women’s basketball victory Friday over Baker.

Erin Robinson led BU with 15 points. Gretchen Patty added 12 points, Jessica Pontious had 11 and Cory Shoaf 10 for the Wildcats.

Ottawa women upend Benedictine

Ottawa — Brittany Broyles scored 17 points, leading Ottawa University’s women’s basketball squad to a 68-56 victory Friday over Benedictine in the OU Classic.

Hallie Boyce added 15 points for the Braves, and Amber Lannan had 13 points and 12 rebounds. Ottawa (2-1) plays host to Baker at 4 p.m. today.

Haskell women fall

Marshall, Mo. — Mellissa Catron scored 18 points, Lucita Yesslith 13 and Billie Gransen 12 in Haskell’s 88-84 double-overtime, college women’s basketball loss to Missouri Valley Friday night. Haskell (2-5) travels to St. Louis to meet St. Louis School of Pharmacy tonight.
