Albert L. Wittman

? Services for Albert L. Wittman, 86, Garnett, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scipio. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Scipio.

Mr. Wittman died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at Golden Heights Living Center in Garnett.

He was born July 8, 1917, in rural Garnett, the son of Frank and Maryan (Michalek) Wittman. He grew up on a farm south of Greeley, where he lived until he moved to Scipio in 1995. He moved to Garnett in 1998.

Mr. Wittman was a dairy farmer and third degree member of Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of St. Boniface Church and Greeley Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He married LaVerne Kueser on Nov. 27, 1945, in Scipio. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include five sons, Denis, Ottawa, and Frank, Tom, Tim and Tony, all of Garnett; five daughters, Delores Morrison, Lavonia, Mo., Alberta Jackson, Baldwin, Eileen Katzer and Mary Katzer, both of Greeley, and Berniece McGowin, Spring Valley, Calif.; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where family will receive friends after the rosary.
