Kind attention

To the editor:

On Oct. 26, my friend Francis Denton and I had gone to Perkins Restaurant for Sunday dinner. During the meal, because of existing health problems, I became ill.

One of the employees came over to see how they could help.

Not wanting to create any more of a scene or confusion there by calling 911, I asked her if it would be possible for anyone there to drive me to the hospital and see that my friend was taken home and got safely inside.

Immediately, they assisted my friend to the car and brought it to the front door and assisted me out.

One of the managers, who was helping, drove us to the hospital and saw to it that I was taken care of and then drove my friend to his home.

One of the employees there had followed us to take the manager back to the restaurant.

They refused to accept any pay for all of their trouble and concern and excellent care of us.

We are so fortunate to live in a community of so many wonderful, caring people. Many places of business and professional people have offered their services at any time it might be needed.

And also our wonderful, kind and thoughtful friends and family.

Words cannot express our deepest thanks and appreciation.
