Dorothy J. Emery

Mrs. Emery died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

She was born June 1, 1936, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Ray and Mary (Wells) Carpenter. She grew up in Kansas City, Mo., where she attended Central High School. She also had lived in Baldwin.

Mrs. Emery was a licensed practical nurse and disc jockey. She later worked at Koch Marketing Co. and Allied Plastic Factory, both in Kansas City, Mo. She also drove a taxi and worked as a security guard.

She married Eugene Emery on July 18, 1957, in Kansas City, Mo. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include five sons, Jessie Ray Emery, Harold William “Bill” Emery, Houston, Robert Eugene Emery, Kansas City, Mo., Richard H. Emery, Overland Park, and Randall Lynn Emery, Kansas City, Kan.; and a brother, Lonnie Bert Carpenter.
