Sacred cows

To the editor:

When the sacred cow is prodded, the sacred cow doth bellow. The sacred cow being the liberal mindset of some of your readers.

It was fine as long as letters to the editor marched in uniform lock step, denouncing President Bush in his efforts to combat international terrorism but when one is written supporting him, it provokes screams of outrage.

How dare anyone question the actions of the three liberal networks or the motives of the seven dwarfs seeking the Democratic nomination for president; how dare the sound of a different drummer be heard.

Liberals are tolerant of other people’s views as long as those views mirror their own.

Concerning the legitimacy of President Bush’s election, just remember that when great leader and dear leader went to the White House from Arkansas, they received 43 percent of the vote, and only 49 percent for their second term. Where were the screams of outrage?

When the Clintons were bombing defenseless Belgrade to remove a dictator who was no threat to us or any other nation, why were there no marches or demonstrations or editorials denouncing them?

I believe that if a liberal Democrat were in office doing what President Bush is doing, the Bush bashers would be cheering the efforts of the Democrat and that if President Bush had not ordered military action in Afghanistan or Iraq, these same people would be attacking him for doing nothing.
