County-level officials given state revenue jobs

? Gov. Kathleen Sebelius has reached into the ranks of county government to fill two key jobs in the Department of Revenue.

Sebelius named Harper County Treasurer Carmen Alldritt as director of vehicles, which oversees licensing and regulation of the state’s 1.8 million drivers.

The governor also appointed Wyandotte County Register of Deeds Tom Groneman as director of the Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control. The ABC enforces liquor laws.

Sebelius announced this week that both will begin their jobs on Dec. 1, replacing appointees of the previous governor, Bill Graves.

Also this week, Sebelius named Elias Garcia executive director of the Kansas Advisory Committee on Hispanic Affairs. Garcia had been executive director of Topeka’s Human Rights Commission.
