In 1903 – From the Lawrence Daily World: “The interfraternity baseball championship went to the Phi Kappa Psis yesterday after a close game with the Phi Delts. The score was 5 to 3. … The hold the state university has on the people of Hiawatha is evidenced by the preference of the senior high school class. Every member of the class wants to go to college and almost without exception they say they want to come to Kansas University. … William Allen White spoke in assembly this morning. The university management has been exceptionally fortunate in getting distinguished men like this to address chapel. Mr. White is a KU graduate.”
