Giguere visits Leno

? The one thing Jay Leno didn’t expect from Jean-Sebastien Giguere was a perfect smile.

“You don’t look like a hockey guy, you have teeth and everything,” Leno quipped as the Anaheim standout appeared on his show Friday.

Giguere grinned and shot back: “I’m a goalie. I’ve got a mask.”

With “Jiggy” and the Ducks skating into pop culture, Giguere became only the second NHL player to appear on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

Detroit forward Brendan Shanahan made an appearance after the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup in 1997.

Leno ribbed Giguere about his position on the team.

“When I was a kid, the guy who was the worst skater, we made him goalie,” Leno said. “Did you want to be a goalie?”

Giguere recalled that he was drawn to the goaltender’s neat equipment, but added that he didn’t really have much choice in the matter.

“I was the youngest of five in my family, and they always put the youngest kid in the net because he can’t complain,” he explained. “So I’d go in there and everybody would shoot at my head.”

Leno also teased Giguere about the beard he has been growing throughout the playoffs for the Stanley Cup-bound Ducks.

Giguere called it a tradition, and Leno called it a superstition.

Giguere finally acknowledged that “I hate the beard,” and so does his fiancee.

“She wants me to get a total makeover when all this is done — tanning salon, haircut, shave, everything,” Giguere said.

“It’s not like women to change guys when they get married; that’s unusual,” Leno said sarcastically.
