Jim and Gracie Morris

Jim and Gracie Morris, Topeka, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. May 31 at Heritage Baptist Church, 1781 E. 800 Road, in Lawrence.

Jim Morris and Gracie Deshazier were married May 13, 1953, in Jonesboro, Ark. Jim is retired from Dupont. Gracie is a homemaker.

Their children are Ron Morris, Salt Lake City; Diana Evans, Topeka; and Michele Morris, Lawrence.

The couple request no gifts.

Meredith and George Taylor

George and Meredith Taylor, Lawrence, this week celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

George Taylor and Meredith Kappelmann were married May 20, 1953, in Long Branch, N.J. They met at Kansas University in 1952. They lived in New York City; East Orange, N.J.; and La Grange, Ill. The couple returned to Kansas in 1984.

Their children are Jena Garcia, Abby Christian, Kara Taylor, Joli Peters, Lori Wanbaugh and Andrew Taylor. They have seven grandchildren.
