Recruit won’t visit KU

Marvin Williams Jr., of Bremerton (Wash.) High, will make official visits to three schools during May and June. It appears that Kansas University won’t be one of the stops for the 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward.

Bremerton High coach Casey Lindberg told rivals.com that Williams planned to visit Arizona (May 30-June 1), Washington (June 6-8) and North Carolina (June 13-15).

Williams, who is rated the sixth-best player in the class of 2004 by rivals.com, still lists Duke, Kansas and Oregon on his final list of six schools he is considering.

Meanwhile, Kalen Grimes, a 6-8, 265-pound power forward from Florissant (Mo.) Hazelwood Central, told rivals.com he had trimmed his list of schools to five and was leaning toward KU.

Rivals.com ranks Grimes as the 13th-best player in the class of 2004. He also is considering Arizona, Illinois, Iowa and Kentucky.
