Blaine N. Bidwell
Memorial services for Blaine N. Bidwell, 86, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Private inurnment will be later.
Mr. Bidwell died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.
He was born May 18, 1916, in Rosalia, the son of Charles F. and Iva Bell (Nelson) Bidwell. He graduated from Butler County Community College.
Mr. Bidwell served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II. He was a plumber for Norris Brothers in Lawrence. He also volunteered for Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Plumbers Union for 50 years and also was a member of Masonic Lodge and Plymouth Congregational Church. He was active in AARP, Autumn Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He married Hazel Kirkman in 1940 in El Dorado. She died in 1983. He married Nellie Hale in March 1991 in Mission. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two brothers, Bill, Great Bend, and Ed, El Dorado.
The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice, sent in care of the mortuary.
