Doris Mae Nitcher

? Services for Doris Mae Nitcher, 89, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Williamstown Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Underwood Cemetery in Williamstown.

Mrs. Nitcher died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at a Topeka care facility.

She was born Dec. 31, 1913, in Dedham, Iowa, the daughter of William and Iona Belle (Noble) Tice. She graduated from Greeley High School in 1930. She lived in the Williamstown community from 1952 to 1978, when she moved to Topeka.

Mrs. Nitcher was an Avon representative in Williamstown and was a checker at Rusty’s IGA grocery store in Lawrence.

She married Edgar George Nitcher on Nov. 26, 1932, in Greeley. He died May 2, 1977.

Survivors include a son, Gail Eugene “Gene” Nitcher, Meriden; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

A son, Keith Nitcher, and two grandsons died earlier.

Friends may call after noon today at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.
