FSHS boys win Wichita invitational

? Free State High’s boys track team opened its season by winning the Wichita Southeast Invitational Saturday, while the girls’ team finished second.

The Firebird boys, who beat second-place Wichita Heights, 116-101, got individual titles from senior Adrian Ludwig, Hiral Bhakta and Stanley Redwine, and junior Tyler Morgan.

Free State’s girls were edged by Maize, 122-118. The Firebirds winners were senior Kelly Perme, and juniors Lauren Abney and Sam Frisbie. The 3,200 relay team of seniors Nicole Berry, Mallory Richardson and sophomores Robyn Lee and Allison Yoderalso won.
