Journal-World looking for service members

This is an anxious time, particularly for those who have a friend or loved one directly or indirectly involved in the war with Iraq.

The Journal-World would like to be able to report on Kansans who are involved or may become involved in the war effort.

If you know someone serving in the war, living in the Middle East or otherwise involved with or touched by the war, we would like to hear from you. We’d like to hear the names, authorized military contact information — especially e-mail addresses — and other relevant information about military personnel so we can share stories with our readers.

We are not asking for information considered sensitive or classified, and will not publish anything that could endanger troops. Rather, we wish to coordinate with the proper military officials to tell the stories of the soldiers and their families whenever possible.

We also would like to publish information about any civilian programs or military contact points that would be of interest to readers who would like to show their support.

If you have a story to share or would like to tell us about your loved one in the service, please contact City Editor Mike Shields at 832-7154 or by e-mail at mshields@ljworld.com.
