Saying the group was “unanimous” in its desire to work together with city commissioners to achieve more viable older neighborhoods, members of Lawrence’s Community Development review committee were seeking a meeting with the commissioners. Jerome Langdon was replacing Glenn Kappelman as head of the group.

IN 1963

The official spring semester enrollment at Kansas University was listed at a record 10,763, an 8 percent increase over the figure for the previous spring term. While there were predictions of continued KU enrollment rises, few were prognosticating the 25,000-plus totals on the campus in the coming 20 to 25 years.
