Padres trip Royals, 6-5

? San Diego’s Adam Eaton was knocked out after just two innings, but a Padres’ split squad rallied from a five-run deficit to beat Kansas City, 6-5, Saturday.

Royals starter Kyle Snyder allowed two runs, three hits and two walks in three innings.

Kory DeHaan went 3-for-3 for the Padres, hitting a game-winning single in the 10th off loser Ryan Bukvich, who had allowed a double to Gary Bennett.

Carlos Febles had two hits and two RBIs for the Royals.

Snyder, who has pitched only 100 innings in the minors since Kansas City selected him with the seventh overall pick in the 1999 draft, is getting a long look in spring training for a rotation spot. Manager Tony Pena said that two starting spots remain open.
